Professional quality manufacture. Materials of first quality are used.Kopa Electrónica manufactures wirewound Potentiometers / wirewound rheostats from 1950.
The wirewound potentiometers or rheostatsare made with a steatite hoop of great hardness,antihygroscopic, being avoid the effects ofcorrosion by electrolysis between winding turns. The type of thread used for the winding isconstantan ferro or nikron, based on the resistive value.
The potentiometers are covered with a barnizTo guarantee its linearity, it avoids the turnsmove by the expansion of the thread.
Materials of first quality are used, resin fenol ica, polyamides, ultra ceramic steatite, nylon 6/6 30%, fiber glass.
All the plastics used are technicians UL 94V-0 category.
Standard linearity.
Upon request logarithmic available.
Brass plated terminals.
Standardized plug-in Terminal connections.

Spindles
Spindles diameter Ø 6mm.
Plastic spindles are made of polyamide UL 94V0.
Metallic spindles are made in bi-chrome steel.

Smoth spindle for control knobs with screw.

Teethed spindle for a fast insertion on control knobs without need to mill the spindle or to have to tighten the screw.

 

Application notes Wirewound for sound

Attenuators of volum level, used to control the volume of the loudspeaker untill the maximum of attenuation, almost zero.

Attenuators of volum leve with infinite attenuation (P0), used to control the volume of the loudspeaker to infinite attenuation (total disconnection), ideal for bedrooms where interests nothing is heard at night, total silence.

For 4Ω loudspeakers it is recommended to use 27Ω potentiometer.
For 8Ω loudspeakers it is recommended to use 47Ω potentiometer.
The potentiometer power rating has to be equal to the audio input, independently to the number of loudspeakers that it controls.
Visual situation in the potentiometer 1 and 2 external terminals 3= central Terminal.

 

Loudspeakers balances

Loudspeakers balances, used to attenuate the volume between two loudspeakers of a same output, being able to attenuate Esther ofboth loudspeakers.
Example. 1 Loudspeaker in the flat roof and the other in the dinning room, we can attenuate the volume of one loudspeaker to theminimum but always is a loudspeaker with volume.

For 4Ω loudspeakers it is recommended to use 27Ω potentiometer.
For 8Ω loudspeakers it is recommended to use 47Ω potentiometer.
